Privacy Policy

The approved Privacy Policy for BuddyWith has not been published yet. The summary below describes how the app is built today; the full policy will replace it before the App Store release.

How BuddyWith stores your information

BuddyWith is a local-first iPhone app. The people you add, and the notes, dates, relationships, groups and photos you record about them, are stored on your device. That data synchronises through your own private iCloud account so it follows you across your Apple devices. There is no BuddyWith account, no BuddyWith sign in and no BuddyWith server that holds your personal content.

Information from your iPhone

BuddyWith asks for access only when a feature needs it. Choosing contacts to import gives BuddyWith access to the contacts you select and nothing else, photo access is used only for the picture you choose for a person, and notification permission is requested when you first set a reminder. Your iPhone contacts are not changed by BuddyWith.

Optional usage information

BuddyWith can collect anonymous product usage information to help us understand which features are used, but only if you explicitly turn it on. It is off by default, it can be turned off again in Settings at any time, and it never includes your personal content — no names, notes, photos, dates, relationships, search terms or contact details. BuddyWith does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Diagnostics

BuddyWith uses crash and performance diagnostics to find and fix problems in the app. These reports describe the technical state of the app, not the people you record.

Purchases

BuddyWith Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and BuddyWith sees only whether your purchase is currently valid.

Deleting your information

You can delete a person, a note or a date in the app at any time. Permanently deleting a person removes their record, along with their notes, dates, relationships and photo, from the store. Removing the app from your device removes its local data; data held in your iCloud account is managed by you through iOS Settings.

Sections still to be supplied

The published policy will also set out the legal entity responsible for BuddyWith, the legal bases for processing, retention periods, the rights available to you and how to exercise them, the third-party processors involved, international transfer arrangements and how changes to the policy are notified. That approved wording is not yet available, and nothing is stated here in its place.
